If you want to go to college close to home, if your goal is to be a Fortune 500 CEO, or if your idea of a great day outdoors is sitting in a college football stadium, reading further will probably be a big waste of your time.

If, however, you love outdoor sports and the great outdoors, and want to immerse yourself in them during your college years (and perhaps beyond), pay attention. You are about to be impressed with a university you probably no nothing about.

Alaska Pacific University is a truly unique institution. APU's 200 acre campus includes a lake, and it's not unusual to see a moose, birds, or other animals on campus.

Students can focus in liberal arts or business, or study marine biology, environmental science, or outdoor studies.

And, what better place could there be to learn about these areas? As the APU website says, "True wilderness is only half an hour away".

And, students can take advantage of University courses in Hawaii, Borneo, Paris, Barcelona, and Vietnam during the APU January block.

It might be an exaggeration to call APU a "one of a kind" university, but it certainly is not your average college. If Alaska appeals to you, if you love the great outdoors, and if you have a serious interest in the environment, APU might belong on your short list.
